Scott moved to Aspen in 1991 to become an associate in a real estate and land use law firm after four years in southern California, where he held a real estate brokers license and worked as a mortgage banker, and thirteen years in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where he had a business and real estate law practice. In 1994, he established his own practice in Aspen, where he continues to handle business, real estate, and land use matters.
