Sergey Aleksandrovich Volkov was born April 1, 1973, in Chuhuiv, Ukraine. He is the son of Alexander Volkov. Currently, Captain Volkov is assigned to command the Expedition 17 crew of the International Space Station and the Soyuz TMA-12 vehicle that will bring him to space.
