Siegfried "Sigi" Schmid is a soccer coach who currently heads the Columbus Crew. Schmid moved from Germany to Torrance, California in 1962. He received a B.S. in economics from UCLA in 1976, and an M.A in Business Administration from USC. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He played (and started) in midfield at UCLA between 1972 and 1975. He was an assistant coach at UCLA in 1977 and 1979, before becoming head of the program in 1980. Wikipedia
