Sir John Major, 1st Baronet (17 May 1698-22 February 1781), was a British Member of Parliament. Major represented Scarborough in the House of Commons from 1761 to 1768 and was also a Senior Elder Brother of Trinity House between 1741 and 1781. In 1765 he was created a Baronet, of Worlingsworth Hall in the County of Suffolk, with remainder to John Henniker, husband of his daughter Anne. Wikipedia
