Stanley Karnow (born 1925 in New York City) is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author who covered Asia from 1959 as chief correspondent for "Time" and "Life" magazines. Until 1974 he was in southeast Asia reporting for the "Saturday Evening Post", the "London Observer", the "Washington Post", and NBC News.
