Steven "Smash Mouth" Harwell (born January 9, 1967) is the lead vocalist for the band Smash Mouth. He was previously a rapper for F.O.S. He was born in Santa Clara, California. Harwell has credited Van Halen, The Waterboys, and Elvis Presley as musical influences. He formed the band Smash Mouth in 1994 with Greg Camp, Kevin Coleman, and Paul De Lisle.
