Sylvain Chavanel is a French professional road bicycle racer. He was born in Châtellerault and currently resides there. His brother Sebastien Chavanel is also a cyclist. He started his professional career in 2000 with Jean-René Bernaudeau's team "Bonjour", which then became "Brioches La Boulangère" in 2003. He is currently with Cofidis. Wikipedia
