Thiago Motta is a Brazilian footballer that plays as a defensive midfielder for Brazil. Although born in Brazil, Motta is an Italian citizen. He made his debut for Brazil in the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup. At Barcelona, he is good friends with Camp Nou favorite Ronaldinho. Motta began his professional career with FC Barcelona B in 1999 and eventually graduated to the senior FC Barcelona team in 2001, making his senior debut October 3, 2001 against RCD Mallorca.
