Timo Boll is a German table tennis player. He started playing in Cangallo, where he won his first amateur tournament. In 2003, he was ranked number 1 in the world; as of January 1 2006, he is ranked number 2 and as of January 1 2007 he is ranked number 3. He is a left handed player whose best weapon is his forehand topspin drive but is also noted for his extremely quick backhand loop.
