Vai Sikahema (born August 29, 1962 in Nuku'Alofa, Tonga) was an NFL running back-kick returner who played for 8 seasons from 1986 to 1993. Sikahema is considered the best American football player ever to emerge from Tonga. Sikahema was a special teams standout for several teams, including the St. Louis/ Phoenix Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and Philadelphia Eagles. He was named to the Pro Bowl twice (in 1986 and 1987). A native of Tonga, Vai first came to BYU in 1980 after playing high school football in Mesa, Arizona. He began his career on the junior varsity but also played with the varsity special teams.
