Velma I. Pocock , age 88, of Canton passed away Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Canton, Ohio on July 9, 1919 to the late Frank and Ida Knouff. Velma graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1937 and Kent State University with a Bachelor's degree in education. She taught school for 34 years in the Canton City and Stark County School, beginning her career in 1939 in a one room school in eastern Stark County. obit.reedfuneralhome
