Description:
St. Victor of Damascus is a martyr saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Victor was a Roman soldier of Italian ancestry, serving in the city of Damascus in Syria during the reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius. He was tortured and killed by Roman soldiers in Damascus in 160 AD for his Christian beliefs. During his torture, a young woman, Stephanis (or Stephanie), revealed that she was a Christian too. She was also killed by the soldiers and later also sainted. Wikipedia
