William Arbuthnot

William Arbuthnot, CB (27 September 1838 - 12 September 1893), was a British military officer. The son of Archibald Francis Arbuthnot (son of Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Baronet), he served as Aide de Camp to Robert Napier, 1st Baron Napier of Magdala during the British expedition to Ethiopia (Abyssinia) in 1867/8. Arbuthnot was Assistant Adjutant-General of the Horse Guards from 1885 to 1892, becoming Major General of the 14th Hussars. Arbuthnot was married three times.
