William Jackson Humphreys (February 3 1862, Gap Mills, West Virginia-November 10 1949, Washington, D. C.) was an American physicist and atmospheric researcher. Humphreys studied physics at Washington & Lee University in Virginia and at Johns Hopkins University, where he got his Ph.D. in 1897. He studied under H. A. Rowland, et al.
