Yigal Allon (born October 10, 1918, died February 29, 1980), commander of the Palmach, was an Israeli politician, serving as one of the leaders of Mapai and the Alignment, acting Prime Minister of Israel, member of Knesset and government minister from the tenth through the seventeenth Knessets. Alon was born in Kfar Tavor and studied at the Kadoori Agricultural High School. As a young man he joined the Jewish Settlement Police as a police officer. Wikipedia
