  4. Angela Williams

    Angela Williams (born 30 January 1980 in Bellflower, California) is an American athlete. Starting for the American national team in 2001, she won a silver medal in the 60 metres competition at the 2001 IAAF World Indoor Championships. She later repeated the event at the 2003 Indoor Championships. At the 2003 World Championships in Athletics she won silver in the 4 x 100 m relay, along with teammates Chryste Gaines, Inger Miller, and Torri Edwards.

    Reyes Estévez López is a Spanish 1500 metres runner, who won the European Championships' final 1998 in Budapest.     Paolo Camossi (born 6 January 1974 in Gorizia) is an Italian triple jumper, best known for his gold medal at the 2001 World Indoor Championships. His personal best was 17.45 metres, achieved in June 2000 in Milan. This result places him second on the all-time Italian performers list, only behind Fabrizio Donato.

  7. Mohammed Mourhit

    Mohammed Mourhit (born October 10, 1970 in Khouribga, Morocco) is a Belgian long-distance runner who had broken three European records by the summer of 2000 (7:26.62 in 3000 metres, 12:49.71 in 5000 metres, 26:52.30 in 10000 metres). He won a bronze medal at the 1999 World Championships (5000 metres) and a silver medal at the 2001 IAAF World Indoor Championships (3000 metres).

    Tye Harvey (born 25 September 1974) is an American pole vaulter. Harvey won the silver medal at the 2001 World Indoor Championships in Lisbon with a vault of 5.90 metres. In March 2001 in Atlanta Harvey established a career best of 5.93 metres, on an indoor track. His personal best outdoor vault was 5.81 metres, achieved in July 2000 in San Marcos, TX.

  10. Patrick van Balkom

    Patrick Petrus Marinus van Balkom (born September 14, 1974 in Waalwijk, Noord-Brabant) is a former Dutch sprinter. Together with Caimin Douglas, Timothy Beck and Troy Douglas he won a bronze medal in 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics. With this same team he also participated at the 2004 Summer Olympics, but they were eliminated in the series due to a mistake in the changing area.

    Venelina Veneva (born June 13, 1974 in Rousse) is a Bulgarian high jumper. Talented at a young age, she jumped 1.93 metres indoor in 1990 to record a world best performance by a 15-year-old. She did not improve this result outdoor until 1995 (1.94 m). A disappointing 1996 season with a 30th place at the Olympic Games and 1.88 as season best was followed by a jump of 2.03 metres in 1998. In 2001 she managed 2.04m, the ninth highest jump for a woman.

    Li Xuemei (born February 1, 1977 in Guanghan, Sichuan Province) is a Chinese sprinter. She is the fastest Asian woman in history with a personal best time of 10.79 in the 100 metres, achieved on 18 October 1997 in Shanghai. Four days later she ran another personal best and Asian record; 22.01 seconds over 200 metres. Li participated at the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004, without advancing to the final.

    Seneca Lassiter (born 12 March 1977) is an American middle distance runner who specialized in the 1500 metres. He finished sixth at the 2001 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Lisbon. His personal best time over 1500 m is 3:33.72 minutes, achieved in July 1999 in Nice. Lassiter ran collegiately for the University of Arkansas where he won the NCAA Outdoor 1500 m twice.

    Natallia Safronnikava, née Vinogradova is a Belarusian sprinter who mainly competes in the 200 metres. She won her first international medal (a bronze) at the 2001 IAAF World Indoor Championships, and entered the podium again in 2004. Anastasiya Kapachinskaya had crossed the line first and been awarded the gold medal but this was later taken back after she tested positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol.

  26. André Bucher

    André Bucher is a retired Swiss 800 metres runner who won the gold medal at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton. He won the indoor bronze the same year. Bucher also won three European Championship silver medals in 1998, 2002 and 2002 Indoor. Other achievements include finishing third at the 2003 IAAF World Athletics Final. Bucher retired in May 2007 due to a long-term heel injury.
