- Lashawn Merritt
LaShawn Merritt (born 26 July 1986) is an American sprinter who specializes in the 400 metres. LaShawn is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. LaShawn spent one year as a college athlete at East Carolina University before signing an endorsement contract with Nike, making him no longer eligible to compete in an NCAA event.

Christine Ohuruogu (born May 17, 1984) is an English sprinter of Nigerian heritage who specialises in the 400 metres. Ohuruogu was also a netball player but quit in 2003 in order to concentrate on athletics. At the 2005 World Championships in Athletics she won a bronze medal in 4 x 400 metres relay together with Lee McConnell, Donna Fraser and Nicola Sanders.
- Tyler Christopher
Tyler Christopher (born October 3, 1983 in Chilliwack, British Columbia) is a Canadian sprinter who specializes in 400 metres. In 2004 he won the NACAC U23 Championships. The following year he competed in 400 metres at the World Championships in Helsinki and won a bronze medal, setting a new national record of 44.44. His personal best in the 200 metres event is 20.49, too achieved in 2005.

Leslie Djhone is a French athlete. Competing mainly in the 400 metres event, he placed 5th at the 2003 World Championships and 7th at the 2004 Olympics. - Marek Plawgo
Marek Plawgo (born February 25, 1981 in Ruda Slaska) is a Polish athlete. He mainly competes in the 400 metres hurdles. He finished 6th at the 2004 Summer Olympics, equalling his personal best time of 48.16s. This is also the national record. At the 2006 European Championships in Athletics he finished second in 48.71 seconds. During the winter season he competes in the 400 metres, where he is the 2002 European indoor champion.

She also won silver medals at the 2001 and 2003 World Championships, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals in relay. In 2002 she set a Jamaican record in 400 m with 49.30 seconds.

He finished seventh at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston and fifth at the 2003 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham. He won the bronze medal in 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2004 World Indoor Championships, together with teammates Robert Daly, Gary Ryan and David Gillick.

In 2007 she won the American (USATF) championship in the 400m in a personal best time of 49.64. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, Trotter placed 5th overall in the 400 metres with a personal best time of 50.00s.

Olga Kotlyarova (born April 12, 1976 in Sverdlovsk) is a Russian runner. She used to compete mainly in 400 metres, and has an Olympic bronze medal from 2000 in relay. She is also a world champion (indoor and outdoor) in this event. In 2005 she concentrated more on the 800 metres distance, managing to set a new personal best and to finish fourth at the World Athletics Final. In August 2006 she became the European Champion on the 800 metres.

Tereza Marinova (born September 5, 1977 in Pleven) is a Bulgarian athlete who competed in long jump and triple jump. In her younger days she became both European and World Junior champion, and she still holds the world junior record at triple jump. At the 2000 Summer Olympics she won the gold medal with a personal best jump of 15.20 metres. In long jump her personal best is 6.46m. She did not compete internationally after the 2004 World Indoor Championships until 2006.
