    John Neal Erlenborn (February 8, 1927 - October 30, 2005) was a lawyer and a former Republican member of the U.S. Congressional Delegations from Illinois, representing the 14th (then after 1980s redistricting the 13th) district. He represented his district for twenty years, from January 1965 to January 1985, a period which began with the 89th U.S. Congress. He retired after serving in the 98th U.S. Congress.

  6. Mario Marcel Salas

    Mario Marcel Salas. (born July 30, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas) is a civil rights leader, author and politician. His parents were an Afro-Mexican father and a mixed race mother. He graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School, an African American segregated school. It was soon after high school that he joined the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and became a civil rights worker for over 30 years.

  7. Zoubin Ghahramani

    Zoubin Ghahramani is a researcher in the area of Bayesian statistics and machine learning. He has made significant contributions in the areas of Bayesian machine learning (particularly variational methods for approximate Bayesian inference), as well as graphical models and computational neuroscience. He obtained his Ph.D from the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, under the supervision of Michael I. Jordan.

    Leon Jaworski (September 19, 1905, in Waco, Texas - December 9, 1982) was the Special Prosecutor during the Watergate Scandal. Jaworski was appointed to that position on November 1, 1973, shortly after the Saturday Night Massacre which led to the dismissal of prosecutor Archibald Cox.

  10. Nadine Strossen

    Nadine Strossen , president of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and professor of law at New York Law School, will speak about cyber censorship on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. She was named one of "The 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America" by National Law Review two times and among the top "100 Executives Leading the Digital Revolution" by Upside Magazine, in addition to many other distinctions.

    Lawrence J. Korb is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress and a Senior Advisor to the Center for Defense Information. Prior to joining the Center, he was a Senior Fellow and Director of National Security Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. From July 1998 to October 2002, he was Council Vice President, Director of Studies, and holder of the Maurice Greenberg Chair.

    Stephanie R. Davis , who lost her mother and maternal aunt to pancreatic cancer in 1999, is a lawyer and psychotherapist. Admitted to the California State Bar in 1990, much of her time is spent working with various associations in helping to fulfill their missions. He has served as adjunct senior scholar at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago and senior policy analyst at the American Medical Association.

    Sheila P. Burke , MPA, RN, FAAN , is the Smithsonian’s Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining the Smithsonian Institution in June of 2000, Burke was executive dean and lecturer in public policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. She served as the chief of staff to former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole from 1986 to 1996 and was elected to serve as secretary of the Senate in 1995.

    Nancy Bussani , executive director, Tower Foundation Nancy Bussani was named executive director of the newly created Tower Foundation in March 2005. Prior to this position, she was executive director of the Metropolitan Technology Center, overseeing SJSU’s joint programs with NASA at Moffett Field. Before rejoining the university, she served as president/CEO of the Mountain Winery in Saratoga and the president of Manex, a non-profit business consulting organization.
