Nathan Kahn Nathan Kahn is a Negotiator for the Symphonic Services Division of the American Federation of Musicians. He has been with the AFM since 1988. In that position, he negotiates, advises and assists in the administration and negotiation of symphony orchestra contracts in the United States, and occasionally in foreign countries.
- Robert Greenleaf
Dr. Robert Greenleaf , Professor Emeritus, is a graduate of The Florida State University and Louisiana State University. He served on the music faculty of Auburn University for 33 years, teaching clarinet, music history, music literature, graduate analysis, theory, composition, and music appreciation. He also taught in AU's Human Odyssey program for 3 years.

I'm 20, I compose music for one of our homecoming musicals at Montevallo, I'm president of Alpha Kappa Lambda, the best fraternity on campus. I'm a cook at the Huddle House, where I do everything from cooking steaks to flipping eggs. I'm about to be an uncle to a beautiful little girl named Jessica Lynn. I'm unbelievably happy, to tell you the truth. I love road trips, cold beer, engaging conversation, and sporting events.

Christopher Confessore was named Resident Conductor of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra in 2004, having served as the ASO's Associate Conductor since 2000. He regularly appears on every ASO concert series, garnering rave reviews from The Birmingham News for his "special talent for drawing the broadly lyrical out of his orchestra." He also leads the orchestra in a wide variety of educational and community outreach performances.

Jay Evans Adjunct Instructor Trombone, Chamber Music Web Page Jay Evans is currently Principal Trombonist of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since October, 2000. In 2002, he performed Jim Pugh's Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra during the ASO's Sounds for Summer series. He also shared a concert with Olivia Newton-John in November, 2003, performing with the orchestra on the Australian Aboriginal instrument, the Didgeridoo.

Bert Brosowsky - Treasurer Bert Brosowsky , originally from New York City, has been a Birmingham resident since 1970. He is currently the Meeting Planner/Manager for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. For 24 years, Bert worked for the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, serving as its Executive Director from 1995 to 1997.
- Judith Sullivan Hicks
James Sullivan Oboe Web Page James Sullivan has been Principal Oboe of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra since the rebirth of the orchestra in 1997. Prior to this appointment, he was Principal Oboe of both the Atlanta Opera Orchestra and the Columbus Symphony. While in Atlanta, James often performed with the Atlanta Symphony, with whom he recorded Bach's B Minor Mass and Mahler's Sixth Symphony.
- Lisa Wienhold
Lisa Wienhold Adjunct Instructor Principal flutist of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra since 1997, Lisa has also been the principal flutist of the Savannah Symphony Orchestra and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. She was also the assistant principal and 2nd flutist of the former Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Solo appearances with these orchestras have included Nielsen Concerto, CPE Bach – Concerto in d minor, Charles Griffes – Poeme, and J.S. Bach – Brandenburg Concerto #4.
- Grant Dalton
Grant Dalton is the Instructor of Percussion Studies at Samford University where he directs the Samford Percussion Ensemble and Samford Steel, the university’s steel drum band. He is also the Assistant Athletic Band Director and teaches several academic courses. He is an extra percussionist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and he is the percussionist for the Birmingham Broadway Series and Broadway Across America.

Dr. Frank Blanton Dr. Frank Blanton Dr. Frank Blanton is in his sixth year as director of bands and coordinator of instrumental music for the Mountain Brook City Schools. Dr. Blanton has also served as Director of Education for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and was music director/conductor of the Alabama Youth Symphony from 2003-2006 He has also served as chairman of District IV of the Alabama Bandmasters Association.
- Laura Guyer Ross
Laura Guyer Ross Double Reeds, Adjunct Faculty Laura Guyer Ross received her Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from Miami University in Ohio and her Master of Music in Oboe Performance from Arkansas State University. Ms. Ross has performed with the Oxford Chamber Orchestra, the Woodstock City Orchestra, the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Opera South, the Batesville Symphony Orchestra, the Equinox Chamber Players, and the St. Louis Philharmonic.
- Kathy Yarbrough
Kathy Yarbrough is currently Executive Director for the Cultural Alliance of the Greater Birmingham Region. She was hired in March 2004 after a nationwide search conducted by Wolf, Keens & Company. Prior to this position, Ms. Yarbrough served as the Director of Development for the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra—the country’s 12th largest orchestra and Florida’s largest arts organization.
- Timothy P. Banks
Timothy Banks received the Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Voice from this institution; the Master of Music and the Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting from the University of Colorado Boulder; additional study includes work at Yale University and a conducting internship with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. He is the conductor of the University Chorale.

Jay Burnham Principal Jay Burnham has been the principal timpanist of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra since 1991. He also served as principal timpanist for the ASO from 1987-89 and as percussionist/timpanist of the Cleveland Orchestra from 1989-1991.
