Lin Dan (born October 14, 1983, in Longyan (龙岩), Fujian province) is a men's singles badminton player from Fujian, the People's Republic of China. Since 2004, he had been ranked number 1 in the world for two years. As of October 2006, Lin Dan had regained his ranking as #1 in the world, after a short period of being ranked behind Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. Lin played in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he lost to Ronald Susilo of Singapore in the early rounds.

Pullela Gopichand (born on November 16,1973 in Nagandla, Andhra Pradesh) is an Indian Badminton player. He won the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001 defeating Chen Hong of China in the finals. He became the second Indian to achieve this feat after Prakash Padukone, who won it in 1980. He was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for the year 2000-2001. But later on, his game was affected due to injuries and his ranking dropped to 126 in the year 2003.

Park Joo-Bong (born December 5, 1964) is a former male badminton player from South Korea. He is the most successful player ever in the World Badminton Championships with 5 titles, 2 of them in men's doubles and 3 in mixed doubles. He also won a gold and a silver medal at the Summer Olympics and 9 All England Open Badminton Championships titles. Park was included in the Badminton Hall of Fame in 2001.

He also won a gold medal at the Summer Olympics and 3 All England Open Badminton Championships titles. Kim was included in the Badminton Hall of Fame in 2002.

Erland Kops (*14. January 1937) is a former badminton player from Denmark. He is one of the most successful players in the All England Open Badminton Championships with 11 titles between 1958 and 1969, 7 in men's singles and 4 in men's doubles. Kops was included in the Badminton Hall of Fame in 1997.

- Punch Gunalan
Punch Gunalan (born April 2, 1944 in Sepang) is a former male badminton player of Malaysia. He was a talented and naturally gifted right handed. He played in the 1969-1970 Thomas Cup which took place in Kuala Lumpur. In the finals, Malaysia met Indonesia. He played in the first singles match as well s the second singles match. He also paired up with Ng Boon Bee in the second doubles and provided one point for Malaysia.
- Frank Devlin
Frank Devlin (January 19 1900, Dublin - October 27 1988) was an Irish male badminton player. Devlin is the second most successful player ever in the All England Open Badminton Championships with 18 titles between 1925 and 1931, including three triple championships in 1926, 1927 and 1929. He also won four Irish Championships. Frank Devlin was right handed player, and was included in the Badminton Hall of Fame in 1997, together with his daugther Judy Devlin.
- Dorothy Walton
Dorothy Louise Walton, née McKenzie (7 August 1909 - 17 October 1981) was a Canadian badminton player who is the only Canadian ever to win the All England Open Badminton Championships, winning the Women Singles in 1939. Born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, she was a founding member of the Consumers' Association of Canada and was its President from 1950 to 1953. In 1973, she was made a Member of the Order of Canada, Canada's highest civilian honor.
- Kathleen McKane Godfree
Kathleen "Kitty" McKane Godfree (May 7, 1896 - June 19, 1992) was a British female tennis and badminton player. She was born in Bayswater, London, England and died in London. Godfree finished in the world top 10 in 1925, 1926, and 1927. She ranked second in the world in 1926. Godfree won a total of five Olympic medals at the 1920 Antwerp and 1924 Paris games. Godfree won the Wimbledon singles title twice.
- Poul-Erik Høyer Larsen
Poul-Erik Høyer Larsen is a Danish badminton player. He competed in two Summer Olympics. In Barcelona 1992 he was defeated in quarterfinals by Ardy Wiranata. In Atlanta 1996 he won the gold medal in the men's singles. He also won two All-England Open Badminton Championships in 1995 and 1996 and the European Badminton Championships in 1992, 1994 and 1996. On February 2007 he was nominated Vice-President of the Danmarks Badminton Forbund.
