Ernest Alonzo Nevers (June 11, 1902, Willow River, Minnesota - May 3, 1976) was an American football fullback who played for the Duluth Eskimos and the Chicago Cardinals of the National Football League. Nevers attended Santa Rosa High School, in Santa Rosa, California, where he excelled in football. In 1920, as a senior, he led the team to the NCS Championships. In 1925 the football field at Santa Rosa High School was renamed Nevers Field in his honor.

He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings out of Clemson University, but was cut on September 2, 2006. Jackson played one season at East Tennessee State University beforing transferring to Clemson.

Motley attended high school at Canton McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio and went to college at South Carolina State University and University of Nevada; after college, Motley joined the United States Navy where he first played for Paul Brown with the Great Lakes Naval Training Station team.
