  1. John Boozman

    John Boozman (born December 10 1950), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2001, representing the 3rd District of Arkansas (map). He is currently the sole Republican member of Congress (in either House) from Arkansas. Bozzman was born in Arkansas and was an optometrist and rancher before entering the House. He is married to the former Cathy Marley. The couple has three daughters.

  2. Darren McFadden

    Darren McFadden (born August 27, 1987 in North Little Rock, Arkansas) is the 2006 All-American starting tailback for the University of Arkansas and the 2006 Doak Walker Award winner as the nation's top running back. He has two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

  3. Houston Nutt

    Houston Dale Nutt was born on 14 October 1957 at Little Rock, Arkansas. He is the son of Houston Dale Nutt, Sr. and Emogene Nutt and is the oldest of four children. His parents taught at the Arkansas School for the Deaf at Little Rock, Arkansas for 35 years. His father also served as athletic director and head basketball coach for the school. His father was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.

  4. Brandon Burlsworth

    Brandon Burlsworth was an offensive lineman for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team from 1996-1998. He joined the team as a walk-on and eventually became an All-American. He was well known for his thick black glasses and his resemblance to comedian Drew Carey. Burlsworth graduated from the University of Arkansas with bachelors and masters degrees. Shortly after graduating, he was selected in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.

  5. Jimmy Johnson

    James William Johnson (born August 14, 1943) is an American football coach and broadcaster. He was the first football coach whose teams won both a NCAA Division 1A National Championship and a Super Bowl. In 1987, Johnson wrote "Turning The Thing Around: My Life in Football" (ghostwritten by Ed Hinton). Johnson currently lives in Islamorada in the Florida Keys where he spends most of his time fishing.

  6. Jerry Jones

    Jerrel Wayne "Jerry" Jones (Born on October 13, 1942 in Los Angeles, California) is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys NFL franchise and the Dallas Desperados AFL franchise. Jones was born in Los Angeles, California. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a star running back at North Little Rock High School and eventually received a scholarship to play guard at the University of Arkansas.

  7. Tarvaris Jackson

    Tarvaris Jackson (born April 21, 1983 in Montgomery, Alabama) is a current American football quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He was the first Alabama State University quarterback drafted into the NFL since Ricky Jones in 1992. Tarvaris Jackson's name is commonly misspelled as 'Tavaris' or 'Tavarius'. Jackson's current jersey is number 7.

  8. Lance Alworth

    Lance Dwight Alworth (born August 3, 1940 in Houston, Texas) is a former American football wide receiver. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. At the University of Arkansas, the six-foot (1.83 m), 180-pound (82 kg) Alworth was a running back who led all colleges in punt return yardage in 1960 and 1961. He also was a track star: running the 100 and 220 yard dashes (9.6 seconds and 21.3 seconds) and long jump.

  9. Barry Switzer

    Barry Switzer (born October 5, 1937) is a former football coach, in the college and professional ranks, between 1962 and 1997. He has one of the highest winning percentages of any college football coach in history, and is one of only two head coaches to win both a college football national championship and a Super Bowl.

    Matt Jones (born April 22, 1983) is a wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. He was selected by the team in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft as the 21st player chosen overall.

  14. Wayne Harris

    Carroll Wayne Harris (born May 4, 1938 in Hampton, Arkansas) is a retired American professional football player who was a linebacker for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League from 1961 through 1972. Harris was a high school all-American who played collegiately for University of Arkansas from 1957 to 1960. In 1960, he was selected as the outstanding player in the Southwest Conference and played in the Cotton Bowl and the All-American Bowl.

  15. Mitch Mustain

    Mitchell Mustain (born February 27, 1988 in Springdale, Arkansas, USA) is an American college football quarterback at the University of Southern California (USC). Mustain played his freshman year of college at the University of Arkansas in 2006 before transferring to USC in 2007. Under NCAA transfer rules, he will sit out the 2007 season and will be eligible to begin playing in the 2008 season.

  16. Butch Davis

    Paul Hilton "Butch" Davis, Jr. is the current head football coach at the University of North Carolina. Previously, Davis was the head coach at the University of Miami and later the Cleveland Browns of the NFL.

  17. Fred Akers

    Fred Akers was the football coach of The University of Texas Longhorns from 1977 to 1986. His notable accomplishments include a Heisman Trophy for Earl Campbell in the 1977 season and national title chances in the 1978 and 1984 Cotton Bowls. In both of those years Texas went undefeated in the regular season only to lose in their bowl game. Akers received criticism because he failed to live up to the standard set by previous head coach Darrell Royal.

He played for the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he finished with 176 tackles, 7 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 5 quarterback sacks. Barrett was drafted in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.

  19. Cedric Cobbs

    Cedric Cobbs (born January 9, 1981) is a running back who is a free agent in the NFL. Cobbs was drafted in the fourth round (128th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He attended college at the University of Arkansas, where he played football, starting for four years. He finished his collegiate football career with 3,027 rushing yards, good enough for 3rd place in school history. Cobbs was acquired by the Broncos in 2006, via free agency.

    Vickiel Vaughn (born on October 24, 1983 in Plano, Texas) is a player in the National Football League, primarily playing free safety. Vaughn was most currently on the roster of the San Francisco 49ers, but did not play in any games in the 2006 season.     Kendall Trainor, from Fredonia, Kansas was an All-American placekicker for the University of Arkansas in 1988. Trainor, in addition to setting 5 school records was a first-team All-Southwest Conference selection in 1988 before the University of Arkansas joined the Southeastern Conference.     John Jenkins was the head coach and general manager of the now defunct Ottawa Renegades of the Canadian Football League. He was also head coach at the University of Houston from 1990 to 1992. Jenkins was a proponent of the run and shoot offensive scheme. He used this offense while being the offensive coordinator for the USFL's Houston Gamblers and the Toronto Argonauts. Jenkins played his college football at the University of Arkansas.

    Ahmad Raheem Carroll (born August 4, 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American football cornerback who was formerly a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and is now a free agent of the NFL. He was selected out of the University of Arkansas in the first round, with the 25th overall pick, of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Carroll attended Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia.
