  1. Hristo Stoichkov

    Hristo Stoichkov alternatively spelt Stoitchkov (born February 8, 1966, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria) is a football manager and former striker who was a member of the Bulgaria national team that finished fourth at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Apart from his footballing talent, he was notable for his on-pitch temper. He was honoured as European Footballer of the Year in 1994.

    Dimitar Penev (born July 12, 1945) is a Bulgarian football coach and former player of CSKA Sofia. Uncle to Lubo Penev. He was manager of the Bulgaria national football team during the 1994 FIFA World Cup, where his team reached the semi-finals and then lost the bronze medal game with Sweden. Throughout his career as manager he demonstrated excellence in both tactics and team psychology. Penev's most notable quality was his ability to work well with young players.

  4. Plamen Markov

    Plamen Markov (born September 11, 1957 in Sevlievo) is a retired Bulgarian football player, currently working as a football manager. He played for Bulgaria national football team (24 caps/7 goals) and was a participant at the 1986 FIFA World Cup.In clubs, he played for CSKA Sofia (1975-1985), FC Metz (1985-1987) and Grenoble Foot (1987-1990). He has coached Bulgaria at the 2004 UEFA European Championship, PFC CSKA Sofia and PFC Vidima-Rakovski Sevlievo.

  5. Georgi Asparuhov

    Georgi Asparuhov (sometimes spelled "Asparoukhov"), nicknamed Gundi (May 4, 1943 - June 30, 1971) was a Bulgarian football player. He is considered to be among the top Bulgarian footballers of all time, if not the best. Asparuhov was a striker for Levski Sofia from 1960 to 1961 and 1964 to 1971, and for Botev Plovdiv from 1961 to 1963. He played 245 matches and scored 150 goals in the top Bulgarian division.

  6. Dimitar Ivankov

    Dimitar Ivanov Ivankov (born October 30, 1975 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian football player who started his career at Levski Sofia. Ivankov was part of the Bulgarian squad at Euro 2004. He joined Turkish club Kayserispor in June 2005. Ivankov is 4th best goalscoring keeper in the world with 29 goals (as of April 2007).

  7. Borislav Mikhailov

    Borislav Mikhailov (born 12 February 1962) is a former Bulgarian football goalkeeper. He was captain of the Bulgaria national team during their surprising fourth-place run at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, as well their participation in Euro 96. He also played at the 1986 FIFA World Cup and is currently the all-time appearance leader for the Bulgaria national team with 102 caps. He played for teams like Belenenses, in Portugal, and Mulhouse, in France.

  8. Daniel Borimirov

    Daniel Borimirov (born January 15, 1970 in Vidin) is a Bulgarian football player who, as of 2007, is playing for Levski Sofia. Borimirov returned to Levski in 2003; he started his career there in 1990, but spent 1995-2003 at 1860 Munich. For Bulgaria, Borimirov was capped 67 times, scoring 5 goals. He was part of Bulgaria's surprising fourth-place run at the 1994 World Cup, and also played in the 1998 edition, as well as Euro 96 and Euro 2004.

  9. Emil Kostadinov

    Emil Kostadinov (born August 12, 1967 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian football striker, former member of the Bulgaria national team for which he played in two World Cups. He gained international prominence after scoring two goals in the last matchday of the European 1994 World Cup qualification, against the French national team. His second goal of the match, scored in the very last second of regular time, qualified Bulgaria to the World Cup finals at the expense of France.

    Trifon Ivanov (born July 27, 1965 in Lipnitsa, Bulgaria) was a Bulgarian international football player. Sometimes known by his nickname "The Bulgarian Wolf" due to his hirsute appearance, Ivanov started his career with the team Etar of Veliko Tarnovo. Later moves included spells at CSKA Sofia during 1994-95 and 1997-98 as well as at the Austrian teams Austria Vienna and Rapid Vienna and the Spanish club Real Betis Seville.

  16. Nikola Kotkov

    Nikola Kotkov (9 December 1938-30 June 1971), nicknamed Koteto was a Bulgarian footaller who played as a striker. Born in the capital Sofia, Kotkov started his football career as a PFC Lokomotiv Sofia trainee and went on to spend much of his career (1956-1969) with the club, winning the Bulgarian Championship in 1964. He then moved to PFC Levski Sofia, for whom he played until his tragic death in 1971.

    Georgi Petkov (born April 14, 1976 in Pazardzhik) is a Bulgarian football player. He currently plays for PFC Levski Sofia as a goalkeeper. He started playing with PFC Hebar Pazardzhik (Хебър Пазарджик). He came to Levski from PFC Slavia Sofia in 2002. He was a substitute of Dimitar Ivankov until this season. He played on the Bulgarian national team in 2005 as a back up to Ivanhov.
