Agneta Andersson (born April 25 1961) is a Swedish canoeist. Andersson was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal in 1996, jointly with Susanne Gunnarsson.
- Martin Marinov
Martin Marinov (born 25 October 1967) is a retired Bulgarian flatwater canoer. A former "Mr Bulgaria" he won two Olympic medals for that country in the Canadian canoeing 500m events. In Seoul in 1988 he was the bronze medallist in the C-1 500m. Four years later in Barcelona he and teammate Blagovest Stoyanov won bronze in the C-2 500m. At the 1996 Olympics Marinov and Stojanov reached both C-2 finals, finishing fourth (1000m) and fifth (500m).

Torsten Gutsche was a German flatwater canoer of the 1990's whose record of 11 world championship titles has not been matched by any other Kayak racer. He won three Olympic and seven World gold medals with K-2 partner Kay Bluhm. After the Atlanta Olympics he switched to Germany's four-man kayak winning four more gold medals.
- Viktor Reneysky
Viktor Iosifovich Reneysky, born January 24, 1967 in Babruysk, is a canoer from Belarus who won three Olympic medals for the USSR and Moldova in the C-2 event with his teammate Nikolaï Juravschi. He also won a total of nine world titles, more than any other Canadian canoe paddler of his generation. Reneysky trained at Dynamo in Babruysk. Reneysky and Juravschi won two gold medals at the 1988 Summer Olympics as competitors for the USSR.
- Henrik Nilsson
Henrik Nilson is a Swedish flatwater canoer and reigning Olympic K-2 1000m kayak champion. Nilsson represented Sweden at the 1996 Olympics as a member of the K-4 1000m kayak crew which placed seventh in the final. His first international medal came at the 1997 World Championships in Dartmouth, Canada, where he won the K2 200m bronze medal with partner Henrik Andersson. His greatest triumphs however came with partner Markus Oscarsson.
- Martin Doktor
Martin Doktor) is the Czech Republic's best-known flatwater canoer. He was double Olympic champion in the Canadian canoe C-1 discipline in Atlanta in 1996. He went on to win two world championship gold medals (C1 200m 1997 and C1 500m 1998). He was also European C1 1000m champion in 1997 and 2000. At the 2004 Summer Olympics Doktor was unfortunate not to add to his medal tally, coming in fourth in the 1000m final and fifth in the 500m.

Markus Oscarsson is a Swedish flatwater canoer and reigning Olympic and world champion. Oscarsson won two silver medals at the 1995 World Junior Championships in Yamanashi, Japan, finishing behind Hungary's Zoltan Kammerer in both the K1 500m and 1000m finals. He competed at the 1996 Olympics, reaching the K2 1000m final with partner Steffan Mlamsten. He then formed a highly-successful K2 partnership with Henrik Nilsson.

- Imre Pulai
Imre Pulai (born November 14, 1967) is a Hungarian canoer, who won two Olympic medals in the Canadian canoeing event, including a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics with teammate Ferenc Novak. As a twenty year-old, Pulai reached the individual (C1) 1000m final at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, finishing in sixth place. However, it was not until five years later that he won the first of his four world championship gold medals - in the C4 1000m in Copenhagen.

- Blagovest Stoyanov
Blagovest Stoyanov (born 21 March 1968 in Asenovgrad) is a retired Bulgarian canoer who won an Olympic bronze medal in the C-2 500 m event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona with partner Martin Marinov. Four years later at the Atlanta Olympics Marinov and Stoyanov reached both C-2 finals, finishing fourth (1000m) and fifth (500m). Stoyanov's best world championship results also came in the C-2 with Marinov. In 1994 in Mexico City they won the C-2 500m bronze medal.

Mark Zabel (born 12 August 1973 in Calbe) is a retired German flatwater canoer and Surfski Champion. As a member of Germany's successful K-4 kayak crew he won three Olympic medals, including gold at Atlanta in 1996, as well as a total of six world championship gold medals. Zabel retired in July 2005 and has now become a coach. He is 190 cm tall and raced at 86 kg (189 lbs).

Nicolae Juravschi (or Nikolai Juravskiborn August 8, 1964) is a Moldovan canoer, who won three Olympic medals in the C-2 event with his teammate Viktor Reneysky. In Soviet time Juravschi trained at the Armed Forces sports society in Kishinev. The pair won two gold medals at the 1988 Summer Olympics, as competitors for the USSR. His first medal, a bronze in Seoul, came as a member of Germany's K-4 kayak crew. However Bluhm's greatest success came after he joined forces with Torsten Gutsche in 1989 in the two-man kayak. As the outstanding K-2 pairing of their generation they won three Olympic gold medals, one Olympic silver and seven World Championship golds.
- Sergey Verlin
Sergey Verlin, born 12 October 1974 in Voronezh, is a retired Russian, flatwater canoeist. He won five World Championship kayak gold medals during the mid-nineties. At the 1996 Olympics he won a bronze medal with Russia's K-4 1000m team. After retiring he went into politics, standing as a candidate for the United Russia party of Vladimir Putin. Since 2004 he has been a coach of the Russian national kayak squad.

Andrew Trim (born December, 1968 in Sydney, New South Wales) is the Queensland Coalition candidate for the state seat of Cleveland. He is a former Olympian, competitng in the sports of canoeing. He won a bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics, both in kayaking. Trim currently serves as Principal of Johnson Real Estate at Birkdale.

At the 1996 Olympics he won a K4 1000m bronze medal and also finished in fourth place in the K2 500m final with partner Anatoliy Tishchenko. At the 2000 Olympics he reached two finals, the K4 1000m and the K2 500m (with Evgeny Salakhov), placing seventh in each.

Milko Kazanov (born 11 February 1970 in Rousse) is a Bulgarian flatwater canoer. He won an Olympic bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta games in the K-2 kayak with partner Andrian Dushev. Since 1999 Kazanov has been a member of the Bulgaria four-man (K-4) 1000m crew which has consistently been one of the strongest in the world, but which has never won a gold medal.

Andrey Tissin, born 5 July 1975, is a Russian flatwater canoe racer. As a member of Russia's K4 kayak crew he won the 500m world championship title in 2001. Zarubin was three times a European champion, in 1999 (K4 200m and 500m) and 2001 (K4 500m). His most recent success came in the 2004 European Championships where he won the K4 500m bronze medal. Tissin lives in Krasnodar. He is 1.86 m (6'1") tall and weighs 90 kg (198 lbs).

Antonel Borsan, born 29 April 1970, represented Romania in flatwater canoeing in the mid-1990's. He was a double world champion in the four-man Canadian canoe (C-4) event. He also won an Olympic silver medal at Atlanta 1996 in the C-2 1000m with partner Marcel Glavan, finishing in a time of 3:32.294 behind the German pair Dittmer and Kirchbach.
