    Ian Herbers (born July 18, 1967, in Jasper, Alberta) is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted in the tenth round, 190th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. Herbers played four seasons in the Western Hockey League, followed by four seasons with the University of Alberta, before going professional. He made his pro debut with the Cape Breton Oilers of the American Hockey League in the 1992-93 season.

He was a successful amateur player who spent most of his pro career in the minors. Greenlay grew up in Calgary, Alberta. He was selected 189th overall by Edmonton in 1986 out of the Calgary AAA Midgets. He then played parts of three years at Lake Superior State.
