1. David Willetts

    David Linsay Willetts (born March 9, 1956) is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Havant, in the United Kingdom. He is currently the Shadow Secretary of State for Education and Skills. He is married to the artist Sarah Butterfield and has one daughter and one son.

    Ruth Jane Lea works in conservative British public policy research bodies. She is currently the Director of the Centre for Policy Studies and Global Vision, but is perhaps better known for being Head of the Policy Unit at the Institute of Directors, a post which she held between 1995 and 2003, and in which capacity she became a well-known television interviewee on matters relating to business.

    Andrew Haldenby co-founded and is now the Director of the think tank Reform. He was previously Communications Director at Business for Sterling, Director of Studies at the Centre for Policy Studies and Head of the Political Section in the Conservative Research Department. He is also the author of a chapter in "The Future of the NHS" (2006) (ISBN 1-85811-369-5) edited by Dr Michelle Tempest.

  4. Alfred Sherman

    Sir Alfred Sherman, KBE, (10 November 1919 – 26 August, 2006) was a writer, journalist, political analyst and an adviser to Margaret Thatcher. Described by a long-time associate as "a brilliant polymath, a consummate homo politicus, and one of the last true witnesses to the 20th century", Sherman was a co-founder of the Centre for Policy Studies, a consultant to the Western Goals Institute, and the founder of The Lord Byron Foundation for Balkan Studies.

  5. Graham Brady

    Graham Brady was born in Salford in 1967. He was educated at Altrincham Grammar School and Durham University where he studied law. Graham first became active in the Conservative party when aged 16 he joined a campaign to save the local grammar schools. Prior to entering Parliament in 1997 Graham was Public Affairs Director at the Waterfront Partnership. He had previously worked at the Centre for Policy Studies and Shandwick Plc.

  6. Hugh Thomas

    Hugh Thomas, Baron Thomas of Swynnerton (born October 21, 1931 in Windsor), is a British historian. Thomas was educated at Sherborne School in Dorset before taking a BA in 1953 at Queens' College, Cambridge. He also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris. His 1961 book "The Spanish Civil War" won the Somerset Maugham Award for 1962. A significantly revised and enlarged third edition was released in 1977.

  7. Gregory Barker

    Gregory Leonard George Barker (born March 8, 1966) is a British politician who currently serves as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Bexhill and Battle. Born in Sussex, he was educated at Steyning Grammar School, Lancing College, Royal Holloway, University of London, and the London Business School. He was a researcher at the Centre for Policy Studies in 1987, before joining Gerard Viian Gray as an Equity Analyst in 1988.

  8. Rajmohan Gandhi

    Rajmohan Gandhi (1935, New Delhi, India) is a biographer and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. His maternal grandfather is Rajaji and his father is Devdas Gandhi. Rajmohan is also a journalist and political activist. Mr. Gandhi, a research professor at the Centre for Policy Studies in New Delhi, India, has written widely on the Indian independence movement and its leaders, India-Pakistani relations, human rights and conflict resolution.

  9. Jeremy Shearmur

    Jeremy Shearmur is Reader in Philosophy and convenor of philosophy in the School of Humanities at the Australian National University. He was educated at the London School of Economics. He has taught at the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester, and at George Mason University, where he was a Research Associate Professor at the Institute for Humane Studies. He was also Director of Studies of the Centre for Policy Studies, in London.

He was policy researcher at Corvinus University, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and the Ministry of Finance in Budapest.     Catherine Murray is currently Associate Professor of Communication and Chair of the Graduate Communication Program at Simon Fraser University, a position she has held since January 1992. She is also an associate fellow and past Director of the Centre for Policy Research on Science and Technology at Simon Fraser, which studies policy, regulation and the management of technology.
