Dr. Joseph Stella graduated from Illinois Benedictine College where he was selected for membership in the Tri-Beta Honor Society. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988. After residency training at Loyola University, Dr. Stella stayed to complete his cardiology fellowship, followed by two additional years of training in interventional cardiology. He served as chief cardiology fellow at Loyola University from 1994-95.

He is also the program director of neurological surgery residency at Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine/BroMenn Regional Medical Center, and an adjunct professor in ISU’s Department of Biological Sciences.
