Alfred H. Colquitt , an active secessionist and brigade commander in the Civil War (1861-65), was a prominent political leader in his home state until his death. During his long career, the veteran officer was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, as well as the governor of Georgia.

Dr. Mary Walker was the only woman ever authorized by Federal Act to appear in men's clothing. She was a surgeon in the Civil War, received a Lieutenant's commission, and is the only female to be awarded a Congressional medal of Honor. A 20 stamp honoring her was issued in her hometown of Oswego, NY, on June 10, 1982.

General Morris Schaff was a soldier in the Civil War. However, he did not fight on the battlefield like most other soldiers from Ohio. He was one of the many men that worked behind the scenes helping the war to be carried out effectively. The way in which he did this was by being an officer in the United States Army Ordnance Corp. However, Schaff had to accomplish something before he was able to put on his navy blue Union Army uniform.

Mr. Bensyl was born at Danville, Illinois, November 23, 1839, a son of John and Elizabeth (CORRAY) BENSYL. Both parents were natives of Ohio. Elizabeth Corray , a daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth CORRAY, was born in that state January 29, 1820. John Bensyl was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, December 5, 1808, a son of John and Mary BENSYL. John and Elizabeth Bensyl were married December 27, 1838, before a justice of the peace, Walter Roads .

I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of 114 years old according to my two children. That's 41 in grownup years. I'm a fan of popular media, ( vacuous, though much like a roadside accident in that you can't help staring sometimes), a voracious reader / information junkie, and carry the perpetual question, "what if?" I believe God would probably love for us to dispense with our all-too-often petty fixations so that we can move on to the stuff that matters.

I Love sports, NASCAR, baseball, and football in that order. I spend a ton of time in the local gym, I love it and met a ton of cool people there. Weekends are for having fun with my friends. They keep me sane and happy, lol! I love comic books and comic book heroes and villians. The story lines from Marvel and DC writers are incredible.
