Have been told I'm kind of quirky...but you'd never know it unless you knew me well I suppose... also, super smooth wouldn't be the most apropos of adjectives at times I guess heh... at least some other people seem to get a kick out of it... I have a geeky hi-tech job but really am not interested in that stuff after work. I work to get a decent paycheck and do fun stuff on the side. Like tennis tournaments or skiing trips.

[[ http://www.typelogic.com/intp.html ]] I; haven't read many others, but this fits me pretty well. -- I'm a geek, but I don't look or smell like one. I'm an outdoors type of guy. And indoors - give me a shop or a lab bench and I'll be happy for a while. I grew up on a farm where I had lots of time and tools and things to tinker with. That's what I like to do the most - tinker. And read.

I'm not very creative so I'll just list off some facts about myself: I got my degree in Economics from MSU about 2.5 years ago and I've been working as an analyst ever since. I've been talking about that way too much lately as part of the MBA application process, so I'm not going to do it here.

I came out to my family at the age of 28. I grew up all over North Carolina. My father is a Baptist Minister and I was very active in Chruch leadership and Children, Youth Music. I was a High School teacher for 2 years. I was a manager for a local company for 13 years and moved myself into the banking world 5 years ago. I'm very outgoing, never meet a stranger and always realistic and fun.

I was recently told I was like Martha Stewart on drugs. I don't think I'm that bad, but I love to bake and cook and use any holiday as an excuse to make goodies for everyone that I know. I've been in NC for three years, but I'm still faithful to Buffalo and am hyper-critical of anything labeled as "buffalo wings" - they just aren't the real thing! I love to read and have a habit of checking out a dozen books from the library and leaving them scattered around the house.
- Andrew Rietbergen
A lot of people say I'm surprisingly laid back for a native Manhattanite. Sometimes I fancy myself a bit of a chameleon in terms of my adaptability to new situations. I like to believe that I'm as comfortable camping as in a 5 star hotel; as comfortable in a tux as in carhartts. A decade ago, I was more shy than I am now.

My life, my mind is quite dynamic to say the least, but whose isn't? I am not perfect, nor do I ever strive to be such a thing. My main goal is love. Understanding, looking further than the surface, empathizing, having compassion, experiencing euphoria and pain, appreciating true beauty, true depth. I wish that things such as judgment, stigmatization, insensitivity, and labeling were not the main focuses of the average human mind.

Sitting on a gold mine pales in comparison to actually mining the gold.

uh.. I'm at duke now getting my Phd in neurobiology. It is fun; I take liberties that perhaps I shouldn't, liberties more aimed at advancing my personal goals than the goals of tha' PI. Sux fer him. Presently I'm working on finishing up (i.e. writing papers!) an experiment aimed at extracting impedance-control information for neuroprosthetics.

I moved to N.C. from Boston. I now live downtown in Raleigh, and I am starting to meet many interesting people. I spent all of my life, prior to moving here two years ago, in the Northeast and Midwest, and I would love to get back to Boston or New York at some point. However, right now I'm having a great time with my friends in Raleigh, so we'll see what happens. There's also now a bar in my building, so come check out The Borough.

basically, i'm a really nice guy...just a genuine good guy. i know that because i'm the guy all the girls want to be friends with, but none of them want to date because they don't to ruin our friendship. i don't even know if i'm good looking, but I know I'm a nice guy, and that's gotta count for something. and that's my life story!!

I like cheese and hate scalloped potatoes. Sleeping is my favorite past time. I'm a kindergarten teacher and am crazy about my kids. Charlotte's hot. Anything else is probably somewhere else on here.

I'm lookin for someone that'll pick me over the gd booze n pot. Come, we will rest on this old mossy bridge. You see the glimmer of the stream beneath, but hear no murmuring. It flows silently over its soft bed of verdure. All is still, a balmy night, and though the stars be dim, yet let us think upon the vernal showers that gladden the green earth, and we shall find a pleasure in the dimness of the stars. William Wordsworth, 1798.

I've been living in North Carolina since summer 2003 with my husband Mat. We built a house in a new development; we were one of the first families to move in. Now we have tons of neighbors. The best thing to happen was the birth of our son Braeden Rhys on January 4, 2005. He's 20 months old now, and absolutely amazing. Funny, sweet, energetic, and a little wild--he's all boy!
