- Frank H.T. Rhodes
Frank Harold Trevor Rhodes (b. 1926) was the ninth president of Cornell University from 1977 to 1995. Rhodes was born in Warwickshire, England on October 29, 1926. He attended the University of Birmingham, graduating in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He also holds three other degrees from Birmingham, including a Doctor of Philosophy. He held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois in 1950, which he held for a year.

- Hassan Aref
Dr. Hassan Aref (b. 1950) is the Reynolds Metals Professor in the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech, and the Niels Bohr Visiting Professor at the Technical University of Denmark. Prior to joining Virginia Tech as Dean of Engineering in 2003-2005 Aref was Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a decade from 1992-2003.

Jack Turner was educated at the University of Colorado and Cornell University and taught philosophy at the University of Illinois. Since 1975, he has traveled in India, Pakistan, Nepal, China, Tibet, Bhutan, and Peru, leading more than forty treks and expeditions. He has lived in Grand Teton National Park for over twenty years and teaches mountaineering during the summers. He is the author of several books and essays.

Amanda Anderson is the head of the English department at Johns Hopkins University. She received her Ph.D. from Cornell University and taught at the University of Illinois before coming to Hopkins in 1999. She has been the Caroline Donovan Professor of English Literature since 2002 and is currently Chair of the department. She specializes in Victorian literature and contemporary literary, cultural, and political theory.

Burrill Phillips is an American composer and educator born in Omaha, Nebraska. Phillips studied composition at the Denver College of Music and later attended Eastman to study with Howard Hanson and Bernard Rogers. After receiving both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Eastman, he remained at the school as a faculty member until 1949. Phillips also taught at the University of Illinois, Cornell University and the Julliard School of Music.

Joe Dubuque (born May 17 1982) is an American amateur wrestler. Dubuque attended Glen Ridge High School in Essex County, New Jersey. Competiting for the Indiana University, Dubuque won an NCAA Division I wrestling title at 125 pounds in 2005, beating Kyle Ott of the University of Illinois 2-0. In 2006 he won the same title, beating Troy Nickerson of Cornell University. Dubuque was an All-American in 2004, wrestling back from a preliminary round pin.

Herbert Reich (October 25, 1900, Staten Island - 2000, Massachusetts) was a pioneering figure in electrical engineering. Reich made substantial contributions towards the design of early oscilloscopes as a graduate student at Cornell University. - Harlan James Smith
Harlan James Smith (August 25, 1924-October 17, 1991) was an American astronomer. He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Paul and Anna McGregor Smith. While attending Wheeling High School he was named first runner up in the "Westinghouse National Science Talent Search". From 1943 until the end of World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, performing weather observation. Following the war he attended Harvard University, earning a B.A. in 1949.
