- Matthew Lloyd
Matthew James Lloyd (born April 16 1978) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for and is captain of the Essendon Bombers Australian Football League. Widely regarded as the best full-forward currently playing, he is the leading goal scorer of all time for Essendon and the tenth highest in VFL/AFL history.
- Adam McPhee
Adam McPhee (born October 6 1982) is an Australian rules football football player, who currently wears the number 33 jumper for the Essendon Bombers. He is a versatile player who has played in both attack and defence, and is much admired for his aggressive approach at the football. He is a very talented player and is thought to be one of the best traded players in the AFL. McPhee was originally recruited by the Fremantle Dockers, with whom he made his debut in 2001.

Jason Laycock (born November 11, 1984), is a player with the Essendon Bombers in the Australian Football League. He was drafted from East Devonport, via the Tassie Mariners U18s, with selection 10 in the 2002 Draft. Insiders at Essendon believe that Laycock remains a raw talent whose full potential is immense. Fans caught a glimpse of this potential on Anzac Day 2005 against Collingwood, in an exciting display in the ruck.

Daniel Harris (b. May 10 1982) is one of the consistent performers of the North Melbourne Kangaroos Football Club in the Australian Football League. He is young and athletic and plays the tough position of Ruck rover. He is often noted for his clearances where he is responsible from clearing the ball from closely contested groupings of players. He often also has a high tackle count because of his need to quell other opposition players clearing the ball.
- Joe Misiti
"Smokin'" Joe Misiti (born November 9, 1974) was an Australian rules football player of Italian descent who played for the Essendon Bombers. Originally from Keilor Park, he made his debut in 1992, and retired at the end of the 2004 Premiership Season, in the same year as fellow Bomber veteran favourites Mark Mercuri and Sean Wellman. Misiti had played 236 games for the Essendon Football Club. In 2005 he played in the Essendon District Football League for Keilor Park.

Paul Barnard (born February 13, 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer who played from 1994 until 2003. Originally from East Perth, Barnard's first two seasons of AFL were spent with Hawthorn and after getting only 11 games he came to Essendon as part of a trade with Paul Salmon. A utility, he earned a reputation as a hard, physical player. He kicked four goals in Essendon's grand final win over Melbourne in 2000.

Richard Sylvannus Reynolds (June 20, 1915 - September 2, 2002), known as Dick Reynolds, was an Australian rules football player and coach. He played for, captained and coached the Essendon Bombers in the VFL/AFL competition for nearly three decades. He played from 1933 until 1951, captain coaching the side from 1939 until 1950, and coaching after his retirement from 1951 until 1960.

Justin Blumfield is a former Australian rules football player of the Essendon Bombers and the Richmond Tigers. His career began in 1996 when he debut the for the Essendon Bombers. Simon Madden (born December 30 1957) was an Australian rules footballer for the Essendon Bombers from 1974 until 1992. He was also president of the "AFL Players Association" from 1985 until 1989. Simon Madden was one of the greatest ruckman to play the game, and certainly the most durable. In all he played 378 senior matches, the most by any Essendon player, and third most league history (Behind Michael Tuck and Kevin Bartlett).

Andrew Lee is a player with the Essendon Bombers in the Australian Football League. He was drafted from the Burnie Dockers, via the Tassie Mariners U18s and the Tasmanian Devils, with selection 30 in the 2004 Draft. Dean Wallis (born August 27, 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Bombers. Due to his physical style of play he became known as one of the leagues toughest players and won premierships with the club in 1993 and 2000. After retiring as a player he became an assistant coach at Essendon.
- Gavin Brown
Gavin Brown (born September 25, 1967) was an Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League. Brown was recruited into Collingwood from Templestowe where he would contribute to the side for longer than a decade. Brown was part of the Magpies under-19 premiership side in 1986 with team-mates Damian Monkhorst, Mick McGuane and Gavin Crosisca, who would all make their debuts with the senior side in 1987.

Des Tuddenham (born January 29, 1943) is a former Australian rules footballer who played during the 1960's and 70's. He was a half forward flanker. Tuddenham was recruited from Ballarat made his VFL debut in 1962, playing for the Collingwood Magpies. He stayed with the club until the end of season 1971 where he finished 9th in the Brownlow. After four years of being captain and coach of the Essendon Bombers he returned to Collingwood for his final two years of football.

Scott Cummings (born January 18, 1974) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League. Cummings was drafted to Essendon in the 1992 National Draft from Swan Districts as a strong goalkicking full-forward. Cummings made his AFL debut in 1994 against Sydney, kicking 8 goals and earning himself an AFL Rising Star nomination. Cummings went on to kick 32 goals in his 10 matches for the year and was the leading goalkicker for Essendon.

Ken Fletcher (born January 21, 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Bombers. He is the father of Dustin Fletcher who was drafted into the club through the father son rule. Fletcher was a versitile footballer and played in many positions during his 264 game career for the Bombers. He excelled as a wingman and half back flanker. He won the club's best and fairest award in 1978 and represented Victoria throughout the 1970's.

Andrew Dunkley (born June 29, 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer. A defender, he played 217 games for the Sydney Swans between 1992 and 2002. Ted Fordham (born May 3, 1940) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Bombers. He won the 1966 Coleman Medal. Debuting in 1961, Fordham played as a half back flanker and follower during the early stages of his career. It was later in the 1964 season that he moved to full forward, under the instruction of John Coleman.

Reg Burgess (born August 6, 1934) is a former Australian rules footballer who played 124 VFL games for the Essendon Bombers. Burgess was a centreman and debuted for Essendon in 1954. He won the club's best and fairest in 1957 and 1960.

Forbes kicked his 200th VFL goal in 1932 and was the first ever player to achieve the milestone for Essendon. He was named on the interchange bench in the Bombers's 'Team of the Century'.

Garry Foulds (born May 13, 1956) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Bombers. He usually played at half back but was very versitile and used in the wings and at times pushed up forward. In 1985 he earned All Australian selection. As part of a successful Bombers side throughout the early 80's he got to play in three grand finals. He won two premierships, winning the grand finals of 1984 and 85.

Glenn Kilpatrick (born August 29, 1972) is a former Australian Rules footballer who played for the Geelong Cats. A midfielder, Kilpatrick played 146 games of AFL after debuting in 1992 for the Essendon Bombers. He appears just 26 times in 3 seasons for the Bombers and then spent a season playing SANFL in 1995. Gordon 'Whopper' Lane (born May 30, 1921) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented the Essendon Bombers and South Melbourne in the VFL. He played as a forward with a strong overhead mark and was rated by Jack Dyer in 1946 as 'the best centre half forward in the game'. He is best remembered for his performances in Essendon's Grand Finals of the 1940's.

Ross Abbey (born January 21, 1953) was an Australian rules football player. He played with Footscray, now known as the Western Bulldogs, in a variety of positions, but mostly on the half back flank and as a ruck rover. He is the son of Angus Abbey who was a member of Footscray's 1954 premiership team. He played most of his junior football with Wesley College and Strathmore, an area traditionally zoned to Essendon. He was recruited to Footscray under the father/son rule.
