Carol Bellamy, president and CEO of World Learning, will deliver the commencement address at Vermont Law School’s 31st commencement ceremony. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will begin at 10:30 AM on the South Royalton town green. Bellamy also serves as president of the School for International Training.

It was difficult for the public to book so far ahead, when they were unaware of other diary commitments. Tony Hall explained that it was necessary to have a long lead-in, in order to facilitate the phasing of bookings between the Friends and the general public.

Having been first admitted to the Law Society of New Brunswick in 1975, she has since practiced law in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Ontario and is currently a member of the Ontario Bar. In 1996, Ruth relocated with her family to Port Hedland, Western Australia where her husband, Pat, continued his work in railroad management.

Brownie Williams Ledbetter , one of Arkansas’ best-known political activists, was born April 28, 1932 in Little Rock, to William H. Williams, a businessman and dairy farmer, and Helon Brown Williams. She graduated from Central High School and attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. In 1953, she married Cal Ledbetter, Jr. , an attorney and later political science professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
