His father Gert Kruys was a professional football player as well, and is currently working as a manager in Dutch football.

    Jacobson ("Co") Adriaanse (born on July 21, 1947 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland) is a former football player from the Netherlands, and a former manager of Portuguese side FC Porto after leading AZ Alkmaar to the 2005 UEFA Cup semi-finals. As a professional player, Adriaanse played for six seasons with De Volewijckers (from 1964 until 1970) and further six with FC Utrecht (1970 until 1976), retiring from football at the age of 29.

    Foeke Booy (born April 25, 1964) is a Dutch former football player and a football manager, who was born in the Frisian town of Leeuwarden. Booy played for eight clubs in sixteen seasons. After Cambuur Leeuwarden, De Graafschap, PEC Zwolle and FC Groningen he opted for a Belgian adventure. He wore the shirt of KV Kortrijk, Club Brugge and AA Gent.     Theodorus Martinus Maria Lucius (born December 19, 1976 in Veghel, Netherlands) is a Dutch professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Dutch club Feyenoord. He has previously played for FC Den Bosch from 1996 to 1998, FC Utrecht in the 1999-00 season and PSV Eindhoven in the seasons 2000/06. Mathijsen came through the youth system of Willem II Tilburg, making his debut on 27 February 1999 in a match against FC Utrecht. After six seasons at Willem II, he was sold by manager Co Adriaanse to AZ Alkmaar. However he endured a harder time breaking into the first team at Alkmaar.

    Pascal Bosschaart (born February 28, 1980 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a defender and midfielder for ADO Den Haag. Strangely, he has never scored a goal in his long and relatively successful career. He made his professional league debut for FC Utrecht in the 1997-98 season, playing for the club until the 2003-04 season, when he was bought by Feyenoord. His first game for Feyenoord was a 6-1 victory over De Graafschap.

    Stijn Vreven (born July 18, 1973) is a Belgian footballer who plays for ADO Den Haag. He is a defender who plays as a Wing Back on the right side of the pitch. Vreven's career began when he signed a professional contract with Y.R. K.V. Mechelen, making his first first-team appearance in 1993, at the age of 20. After four seasons in Mechelen he moved to K.A.A. Gent where he developed into a better player for another two seasons.
