- Mumia Abu-Jamal
Mumia Abu-Jamal (born Wesley Cook April 24, 1954) is an African-American journalist, political activist, and former militant leader from Philadelphia. An early member of the Black Panther Party, Abu-Jamal was convicted of the 1981 murder of Philadelphia Police Department officer Daniel Faulkner. Originally sentenced to death, Abu-Jamal's sentence, but not his conviction, was overturned in December 2001 by Judge William H. Yohn, Jr.

- Margarethe Cammermeyer
Margarethe "Grethe" Cammermeyer is a former colonel in the Washington National Guard and a gay rights activist. Born in Oslo, Norway, she became a United States citizen in 1960. In 1961 she joined the Army Student Nurse Program. She received a B.S. in Nursing in 1963 from the University of Maryland. She met her partner, Diane Divelbess, in 1988, when she was 46 — after she had ended a 15-year marriage to a man and had four sons.
- Ronnie L. White
Ronnie L. White is a Judge of the Supreme Court of Missouri. He was appointed to the Court in 1995, and served as the state's first African-American Chief Justice, from 2003 to 2005. Ronnie White was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1953. His educational background includes graduation from St. Louis Community College and St. Louis University. He earned a law degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. From 1993 to 1994, he served on the St. Louis City Council.

Gary Lee Roll (November 22, 1951 - August 30, 2000) was executed by lethal injection in the state of Missouri. He was convicted of the murders of 3 members of the Sheper family in Cape Girardeau, Missouri during a robbery in 1992. Roll shot the mother and one son with his pistol and stabbed the other with a hunting knife. The robbers made off with approx 12 ounces of marijuana and $214 cash.

Stephen Michael Cohen is an American and Internet entrepreneur who has been closely involved in several dubious Internet ventures. He is most notable for fraudulently obtaining the sex.com domain name and for organizing, or being highly involved in, the peer-to-peer service EarthStation 5. While imprisoned, Cohen was a cellmate of junk bond king Michael Milken and the two men continue to be close friends.

Levi Thomas Griffin (May 23, 1837-March 17, 1906) was a politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. Griffin, born in Clinton, New York, was named for his maternal grandfather, Levi Thomas of Utica, New York. He moved with his parents to Rochester, Michigan in the fall of 1847. He graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1857 where he had studied law.
