Richard Jenkins (born December 2 1953 in DeKalb, Illinois, USA) is an American actor. Jenkins earned a degree in drama from Illinois Wesleyan University before relocating to Rhode Island. He worked as an actor with Trinity Repertory Theater Company in Providence, Rhode Island before breaking into film with a bit part in "Feasting with Panthers" (1974), a television movie.

Joseph Farwell Glidden (January 18 1813 - October 9, 1906) was an American farmer who patented barbed wire, a product that forever altered the development of the American West. Glidden was born in Charlestown, New Hampshire, his family later moving to Clarendon, New York. In 1843, he moved to Illinois with his wife Clarissa Foster. She and her two sons died after the move, and Glidden married Lucinda Warne in 1851.

He attended Eastern Illinois University and was roommates with Mike Shanahan, and was receivers coach for Shanahan with the Denver Broncos, from 1995 until 1999.

Aaron Jordan Bramlett (born January 10, 1977 in DeKalb, Illinois) is an American basketball player, currently playing for ASK Riga. At 6-foot, 10-inches, he usually plays a center or post position, but at only 220 pounds he sometimes has a hard time against physical play. Bramlett was a three-year letterman at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leading the Bears to a state championship in 1994.

- Clinton Rosette
Clinton Rosette (b. 1850, DeKalb County, Illinois-d. July 1909, DeKalb, Illinois) was a prominent citizen of DeKalb, Illinois during the 19th century. Rosette was closely associated with well known men from the same city, such as Isaac Ellwood. He was the first editor of the newspaper in DeKalb, the "Daily Chronicle," a newspaper whose first publisher was barbed wire inventor Joseph Glidden. Today, a middle school bears his name.

Jacob Haish was one of the first inventors of barbed wire. His type of barbed wire was in direct competition with the other barbed wire manufacturers in DeKalb, Illinois. He was a known carpenter and architect in DeKalb County and designed several prominent DeKalb homes.

- Andrew Harris
Andrew Harris is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, hailing from DeKalb, Ill. (U.S.), who has recorded and performed under the pseudonym "Akhenaten" (after the Egyptian Pharaoh of the same name). He established himself on the black metal underground especially with his now-defunct solo project Judas Iscariot (1992-2002). During the same period, Harris also recorded and/or performed with Sarcophagus (1991-2001), Weltmacht (1998-2002), and Krieg (1999-2000).
- George H. Gurler
George H. Gurler was a citizen of 19th century DeKalb, Illinois. He and his family were once owners of the Gurler House, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Gurler, along with his brother Henry, founded a successful dairy, Gurler Brothers Creamery, where they were leaders in the field of milk production. The company's proprietary milking and manufacturing process was later sold to HP Hood in exchange for 5% ownership of the company.

John M. Goodell (b. Aug 3, 1823, New York state-d. c. 1877) was an early and prominent citizen of DeKalb, Illinois. A merchant by trade Goodell is generally referred to as one of the earliest settlers of the city of DeKalb. Goodell's home, known as the Goodell House was erected in either 1849 or 1853. The house still stands today.
