    Reg Birch (7 June 1914 - 2 June 1994) was a British Maoist trade unionist. Born in Kilburn, Birch became a toolmaker and joined the Amalgamated Engineering Union (AEU). He became active in supporting the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War, and joined the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) in 1938. In 1941, Birch worked with Wal Hannington to organise a strike at a firm in Stonebridge.

His first television production was the 1957 Roberta Leigh children's series "The Adventures of Twizzle". His most famous and successful production in this genre came later: "Thunderbirds", which was made in 1965.

    Trevor was born in 1937 in London during the Blitz. At the age of 15, Trevor swam for Britain, and on leaving school, worked as a stunt man, escapologist in a Berlin circus, and as a Physical Training Instructor for Army. Later he joined a swimming pool company as a salesman, and then moved into R & D. In 1970, he designed and built a large portable glass sided tank which was used for giving high diving and underwater swimming exhibitions.
