    Paul Figley joined the faculty of the Washington College of Law in the Fall of 2006. He serves as the Associate Director of the Legal Writing and Rhetoric Program. For the previous fifteen years he was Deputy Director in the U.S Department of Justice, Civil Division, Torts Branch. He previously taught Legal Research & Writing as an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University Law School.

In the 1990s, he served as a consultant in the case of Robert Doorn, a Dutch businessman charged in several U.S. district court cases with money laundering and securities-related crimes.

    Mr. Berman’s more significant trials as a federal prosecutor included: (a) the prosecution of an international money laundering scheme involving Kazakhstan, Lithuania and a major United States bank; (b) the prosecution of three individuals for mail and wire fraud as part of a conspiracy to defraud a major investment bank; and (c) the prosecution of a 24-member violent street gang for racketeering crimes for 10 years of violence including extortion.

    Brian Kirk Adjunct Instructor Brian Kirk received a B.A. in Fine Arts from George Washington University and a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies in Studio Art from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also studied art in at University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico. Brian teaches secondary art with Loudoun County Public Schools and is the Fine Arts Department Chair at Stone Bridge High School.
