I have just moved to Kampala, Uganda (in East Africa) for the next two years at least. I am about to start attending Makerere University to obtain my masters in Peace and Conflict Studies. I am originally from Kansas; Lawrence and Eudora to be exact.

i just graduated from csulb (long beach state)with a degree in history with an emphasis in colonial latin america. i am not sure what I can do with my degree but probably go into some sector of education. california's public education is in disaray at the moment so the job opportunities are probably not going to come rolling in and the ones that do will most likely be the least desirable.

I grew up in the Baltimore-Washington area. I am the middle of five children. My parents are Scottish. It was a very practical home. I'm a Catholic by birth, a non-believer by choice. I have worked for the State Highway Administration for 18 years, mostly doing computer and mapping work. Ironically enough, I don't own a car. I have commuted by bicycle off and on for years and I know the Baltimore bus system pretty well. I rent cars when I need them.

I like to hang with my friends and watch movies and play video games. I also like reading all kinds of books, whether it is fiction or non-fiction. I rarely get mad at anyone, I am a kind and outgoing person. I am easy to get along with and easy to talk too.

Easy, not sleasy. It doesnt take much to keep me out all night. I love my fella. I'm the most moody person I know. I like to get into winding, circular conversations and then straighten them out. Whatever it is, I want to see it... and maybe take a picture.

As trite as it may be, I think my outlook on life can be summarized by the beginning of Exupery's "The Little Prince":.

what i'm doing when i wander aimlessly around san francisco: drinking espresso in north beach, perusing book stores in the mission, buying fire crackers in chinatown, people-watching on market street, getting in free at the strip clubs in the tenderloin, watching the fog roll in at chrissy field, bar-hopping on haight street, feeding the ducks at stow lake, going to the farmers market on the embarcadero, and riding the cable cars up and down nob hill.
