  1. Marcos Espinal

    Marcos Espinal , Executive Secretary, Stop TB Partnership Secretariat Marcos Espinal is the Executive Secretary of the Global Partnership to Stop TB. He joined WHO in 1997 to lead the WHO/IUATLD Global Project on Drug Resistance Surveillance and the building of a strategy to manage MDR-TB in resource-limited countries. From 2000 he managed the DOTS-Plus initiative for the management of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, including the Green Light Committee.

  2. Raymond Pearl

    Raymond Pearl (3 June 1879 - 17 November 1940) was an American biologist, who spent most of his career at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Pearl was a prolific writer of academic books, papers and articles, as well as a committed populariser and communicator of science. At his death, 841 publications were listed against his name.

  3. Beno Gutenberg

    Beno Gutenberg was a German-born seismologist who made several important contributions to the science. He was a colleague of Charles Francis Richter at the California Institute of Technology and Richter's collaborator in developing the Richter magnitude scale for measuring an earthquake's magnitude. Gutenberg was born in Darmstadt, Germany and obtained his Doctorate in Physics from University of Göttingen in 1911. His advisor was Emil Wiechert.

  4. Donald Brittain

    Donald Brittain, O.C. (June 10, 1928 - July 21, 1989) was an acclaimed filmmaker with the National Film Board of Canada. Brittain's most notable directorial credits include the 1965 documentaries "Ladies and Gentlemen... Mr. Leonard Cohen" and "Memorandum". He also directed the first-ever IMAX film, "Tiger Child", for Expo '70.

    Russell A. Mittermeier (born November 8, 1949) is a primatologist, herpetologist and biological anthropologist. He has written several books for both popular and scientist audiences, and has authored some 300 scientific papers. Dr. Mittermeier received his B.A. (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Dartmouth in 1971 and his Ph.D. from Harvard in Biological Anthropology in 1977.

    Frank Hurt President Frank Hurt is the international president of the Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco Workers International Union. Mr. Hurt served as the union's director of organization from 1982 to 1991, when he was elected international secretary treasurer.
