- Ami Ayalon
Ami Ayalon (born 27 June 1945) is an Israeli politician and Member of the Knesset for the Labor Party. He was formerly head of the Shabak, Israel's domestic security agency, and commander-in-chief of the Navy. He came second to Ehud Barak in a Labor leadership runoff on the 12th of June, 2007.

- David ben Ba'Ashat
Aluf David Ben Ba'ashat (b. 1950) is a general in the Israel Defense Forces and currently the commander of the Israeli Navy. Born in Israel, he has received a B.A. in Economics and Business Management from Haifa University, and studied at the US Marine Corps College for a year in the early 1970s. Ben Ba'ashat began his military career as a draftee in 1970, but then volunteered to attend the naval officer's course.

Yossi Ghinsberg was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel and served three years in the Israeli Navy on the Red Sea where he befriended the Bedouins of the Sinai Desert. After he was released from service, he traveled on a wandering backpacking journey through South America. During the trip, he was separated from his traveling companions and became lost in the Bolivian rainforest for over a month during the height of the rainy season.

Major General Yedidya Ya'ari (born 1947) was the commander of the Israeli Navy. He was succeeded by David Ben Ba'ashat. In July 1969, as a commando in Shayetet 13, he was badly wounded and mistakenly declared dead during Operation Bulmus 6 - the assault on fortified Green Island, Egypt, in the Gulf of Suez (jointly with Sayeret Matkal). After retirning from active army service, Ya'ari worked as an assistant cameraman for three years at Herzliya Studios.

He is a former Defense Minister of Israel and former leader of the Israeli Labour Party, having left those positions in June of 2007. Peretz is the former chairman of the Histadrut trade union federation and defeated Shimon Peres in the primary elections for the Labour leadership in November 9, 2005. He led the Labour Party to a second place showing in the 2006 Israeli elections.
