    James Jackson (October 18 1819 - January 13, 1887) was a United States Representative from Georgia, a judge advocate in the American Civil War, and a chief justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia. Jackson was also a trustee of the University of Georgia. He was the grandson of Georgia governor James Jackson and the nephew of Congressman Jabez Young Jackson. Jackson was born in Jefferson County, Georgia and named for his famous grandfather.

  6. Richard Howell

    Richard Howell (Newark, Delaware, October 25, 1754; died in Trenton, New Jersey, April 28, 1802) was Governor of New Jersey from 1794 to 1802. Howell was a lawyer and soldier of the early United States Army. He served as captain and later major of the 2nd New Jersey Regiment from 1775 to 1779. He was offered the role of judge advocate of the army, but turned down the appointment to practice law. He was clerk of the New Jersey Supreme Court from 1778 to June 3, 1793.

    Samuel Beardsley (February 6, 1790 - May 6, 1860) was a United States Representative and New York State Attorney General. Born in Hoosick, he pursued academic studies, taught school, studied law in Rome, New York and served as a lieutenant in the War of 1812, taking part in the defense of Sackets Harbor in 1813. He was admitted to the bar in 1815 and commenced practice in Watertown.

  10. William A. Peffer

    William Alfred Peffer (September 10, 1831 - October 6, 1912) was a United States Senator from Kansas, notable for being the first of six Populists (two of which, more than any other state, were from Kansas) elected to the United States Senate. In the Senate he was recognizable by his enormous flowing beard. His name was also raised as a possible third-party presidential candidate in 1896.

    James Biddle Eustis (August 27, 1834 - September 9, 1887) was a United States Senator from Louisiana. Born in New Orleans, he pursued classical studies, graduated from the Harvard Law School in 1854, was admitted to the bar in 1856 and commenced practice in New Orleans. He served as judge advocate during the Civil War in the Confederate Army and resumed the practice of law in New Orleans.

    John McCreath Farquhar (April 17, 1832 - April 24, 1918) was a United States Representative from New York and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor. Born near Ayr, Scotland, Farquhar attended the Ayr Academy. He immigrated to the United States as a boy and settled in Buffalo, New York. He was a printer, editor, and publisher for 33 years.
