  1. Pete Maravich

    Peter Press Maravich (June 22, 1947 - January 5, 1988) was a Serb-American basketball player known for his dazzling ballhandling, incredible shooting abilities, and creative passing. He learned at a very young age fundamental basketball and ball handling drills from his father coach Press Maravich. He would follow his father and coach throughout the eastern and gulf seaboards as a young man before exploding onto the NBA in his own right.

  2. Ryan Perrilloux

    Ryan Perrilloux (born January 1, 1987 in LaPlace, Louisiana) is an American football player. A dual-threat quarterback with outstanding athletic ability, he is currently in his sophomore season at Louisiana State University. Alongside junior Matt Flynn, Perrilloux is a candidate to replace JaMarcus Russell, who entered the 2007 NFL Draft, as starting quarterback of the LSU Tigers football team. He has been compared to Donovan McNabb by recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.

  3. Matt Flynn

    Matthew Clayton Flynn (born June 20, 1985, in Tyler, Texas) is an American football quarterback. He is currently in his junior year at Louisiana State University. Flynn served as backup to JaMarcus Russell the previous two seasons and is likely to replace him as starting quarterback at LSU, since Russell decided to enter the 2007 NFL Draft.

  4. Sean O'Keefe

    Sean O'Keefe (born January 27, 1956) was the tenth Administrator of NASA, leading the space agency from December 2001 to February 2005. His tenure was marked by a mix of triumph and tragedy, ranging from the tremendous success of the Mars rovers to the disintegration of the Space Shuttle Columbia. O'Keefe is currently the chancellor of Louisiana State University, a job he took after resigning from his NASA position.

    J. Stanley "Skip" Bertman (born May 23, 1938 in Detroit), is a former college baseball coach who is now entering his sixth year as the athletic director at LSU. He led the LSU Tigers baseball to College World Series Championships in 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 2000.

  6. Ivor van Heerden

    Ivor van Heerden is the deputy director of the Louisiana State University Hurricane Center. He is also the director of the Center for the Study of Public Health Impacts of Hurricanes. Van Heerden was born in South Africa. He created a hurricane modeling program at LSU. For the last decade he has been one of the most persistent voices warning of the inevitable effects of a major hurricane on the Louisiana coast.

  8. Mary Landrieu

    Mary Loretta Landrieu (born November 23, 1955) is the Senior Democratic United States senator from the state of Louisiana, as well as the first, and as of 2007, only woman from that state to be elected to the Senate. She is the daughter of former New Orleans mayor Moon Landrieu and the sister of current Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu. By national standards, Landrieu is one of the more conservative Democrats in the U.S. Senate.

    Bernie Moore was a legendary sports figure during his long tenure as head coach of both football and track & field at LSU.
