His first major victory was in the 1953 Mr. Universe contest (in which he beat out a then 23 year old Sean Connery). He actively competed until his retirement in 1971 after winning the Mr. Universe one last time, over Reg Park and Sergio Oliva. He is the author of the popular exercise book, "Getting Stronger".

Serge equally challenged opponent Arnold Schwarzenegger for the title of Mr. Olympia 1975 after having placing third in 1973. His nickname is the "black panther".

Robby Robinson (born May 24, 1946) is an American former bodybuilder who won the IFBB Mr. America, Mr. World, and Mr. Universe titles on his way to becoming one of the most dominant professional bodybuilders of the 1970s. He was the Masters Olympia overall champion the first year that the event was held in 1994 and then went on to win the 50+ division at that same contest in both 1997 and 2000. His legendary nickname is 'The Black Prince.'

Steve Michalik is a bodybuilder most active during the 1970's and 80's. He won a number of titles including Mr. America in 1972 and Mr. Universe in 1975. After a near-death experience due to steroid over-use, he now teaches young teenagers the dangers of steroids and encourages healthy methods of packing on muscle.

Tommy Kono (born June 27, 1930) was a U.S. weightlifter in the 1950s. Kono set records in four different weightlifting classes: lightweight (148 pounds or 67 kilograms), middleweight (165 lb or 75 kg), light-heavyweight (181 lb or 82 kg), and middle-heavyweight (198 lb or 90 kg). He won a Gold Medal at both the 1952 and 1956 Olympic Games, and a Silver Medal at the 1960 Olympics. He was world champion from 1953 - 1959 and set 26 world records.

Premchand Degra is an Indian bodybuilder. He won the Mr. Universe title in the short-height 80 kg category in 1988. He was also awarded the "Achievement Medal" by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) in 2003, for winning its World Middleweight Champion title in 1988. Mr. Degra lives in Hoshiarpur (Punjab) and trains budding body builders in his own gym. He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

George Turner (born 1928) is an American bodybuilder and weightlifter. He began training in 1942 at the age of 14, later entered the gym business in 1950 at the age of 22. Over the course of his career, Turner at one time operated seven gyms at once in the St. Louis area, gaining some 55,000 members including three winners of the Mr. America contest, five winners of Mr. Universe, and one winner of Mr. Olympia (Samir Bannout).

Manohar Aich, (born 1903) is an Indian bodybuilder. He won the 1952 Mr Universe championship. He is also three-time Asian Games gold medalist in body building. Being only 5' tall, he was given the name "Pocket Hercules".
