Dick Wilson is an American character actor who played the role of finicky grocery store manager Mr. (George) Whipple in Charmin toilet paper television commercials (1965–1989, 1999). Wilson was born in England to an Spanish-Scottish father, Randolph Wilson (who was fighting in World War I) and an English mother, Victoria Wilson. In late 1916, his father brought him and his mother back to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where he was raised. - Adam Savage
