1. Eugene Cernan

    Eugene Andrew Cernan (born March 14, 1934) is a former American astronaut of Czech and Slovak ancestry. He has been into space three times: as co-pilot of Gemini 9A in June 1966; as lunar module pilot of Apollo 10 in May 1969; and as commander of Apollo 17 in December 1972. In that final lunar landing mission, Cernan became "the last man on the moon" since he was the last to re-enter the Apollo Lunar Module during its third and final extra-vehicular activity (EVA).

    James Arthur Lovell, Jr . was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 25, 1928. Lovell graduated from Juneau High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin for two years before receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1952. Lovell’s military and flight career began in 1952 when he became an ensign in the Navy. While in the Navy he attended flight school and served as a flight instructor and test pilot.

Donahue Collegiate Professor of Space Science at the University of Michigan, where from 1993-2003 he was Chair of the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences. Prior to joining the University in July 1993, Dr. Fisk was the Associate Administrator for Space Science and Applications of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Helms received her interest in flight from her parents, Lieutenant Colonel Pat (USAF, Retired) and Dori Helms.

    Robert L. Crippen Robert L. Crippen piloted the first Space Shuttle flight in 1981 and commanded three other shuttle missions in the next 3 1/2 years. In the early 1990s he served as director of NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Crippen was born in Beaumont, Tex. , and received a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas in 1960. After graduation he attended the Navy's Aviation Officer Program at Pensacola, Fla.

  12. Tammy Jernigan

    TAMMY JERNIGAN was principal deputy associate director of the Physics and Advanced Technologies Directorate at Lawrence Livermore from 2001 to 2007. Her responsibilities encompassed a broad range of research and development activities, including basic and applied science, strategic human capital management, workforce planning, recruiting, mentoring, training and succession planning.

    Carl E. Walz Carl Walz , a retired U.S. Air Force (USAF) Colonel, is the director for the Advanced Capabilities Division in the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters. He is responsible for a broad range of activities that include human research, technology development, nuclear power and propulsion, and the Lunar Robotic Exploration Programs to support the Vision for Space Exploration.

As a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and in her professional career in the Navy and NASA's Space Shuttle program, she has served over 20 years with an unblemished record. Lisa attained the rank of Captain, and flew as a Mission Specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery in July 2006. Personally, Lisa is an extremely caring and dedicated mother to her three children.

  17. John A. McLuckey

    John A. McLuckey McLuckey, who has 39 years of experience in the aerospace and electronics industries, retired from The Boeing Company in 1998 as president of Space Systems. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of the Rockwell Aerospace and Defense businesses prior to Boeing's acquisition of these units in December 1996.

    Scott E. Parazynski M.D is a graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Medical School. He subsequently pursued clinical training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston, MA) and emergency medicine residency training in Denver, CO. While an undergraduate at Stanford University, Dr. Parazynski studied antigenic variation in African Sleeping Sickness, using sophisticated molecular biological techniques.
