Smith, a three-time Pro Bowl contender, has emerged as one of the NFL's most productive wide receivers, leading the league in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns in 2005.

He is the only player ever to be enshrined by both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Bud Grant is also enshrined in both, but as a coach.

Solomon Wilcots (born October 9, 1964 in Los Angeles, California) is a former American football defensive back in the NFL. Wilcots played six seasons in the league for the Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended the University of Colorado. Wilcots is currently an analyst on the NFL Network as well as a color commentator for CBS' football telecasts, where he is paired with Ian Eagle.

After being released by the San Francisco 49ers he signed with the Cowboys. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2nd round (35th overall) in the 1998 NFL Draft. Donahue built his team into one of the top programs in the country. During his 20-year career with UCLA, he became the coach with the most wins in Pac-10 (98 league victories) and UCLA (151 wins) history.

Woodrow Wilson Woolwine Strode (born July 28, 1914, Los Angeles, California; died December 31, 1994) was a decathlete and football star at UCLA before becoming a pioneering African-American film actor. Strode and fellow UCLA alumnus Kenny Washington were two of the first African-Americans to play in the National Football League, playing for the Los Angeles Rams in 1946. In 1948 and 1949, he played for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.

Haven Moses (born July 27, 1946 in Los Angeles, California) was an American college and professional football wide receiver who played collegiately for L.A. Harbor College and San Diego State University. He was drafted by the American Football League's Buffalo Bills in 1968. He also played for the NFL Bills and Denver Broncos and made the AFL All-Star Game in 1969 and the NFL Pro Bowl in 1973. He is on the "Ring of Fame" in Invesco Field at Mile High.

Prior to joining the Patriots, Mangurian was a member of Dan Reeves ' staff with the Atlanta Falcons for three seasons from 2001-03, a period during which the Falcons notably excelled in rushing and pass protection. As Atlanta's offensive coordinator in 2003, Mangurian oversaw an offensive unit that averaged 4.48 yards per carry and allowed just 35 sacks, the fewest for the Falcons since 1991.

Somehow a coin dealer's evolution into a sports mogule is novel. Oddly, the book loses momentum when the author is shuffled off to jail. I doubt anyone picked up Bruce McNall 's biography to catch a glimpse inside prison life, but his descripion of it is painstaking.
