Amanda Salb , a junior at Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. , won a national championship in track and field Friday night. She won the national title in NCAA Division III in the national championships held at MacAlester College in St. Paul, Minn. , in the shot put with a distance of 44 feet 11 inches. Suzy Smith , 66, Nevada, Mo. , passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at her home in Nevada. She was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Nevada, to Edwin Wayne Spillman and Ruby Helen Pryor Spillman. She married Ron C. Smith on July 23, 1960, in Nevada, and he survives of the home. Suzy grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1958. George Robert Dalton , 87, of Pittsburg, Kan. , died on Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Center in Frontenac. He was born on Nov. 20, 1919, at Nevada, Mo. , to George William and Madeline Lillian (Krebs) Dalton. He was a graduate of Nevada High School.
