    Amanda Amaya Shaw (born 1990) is a Cajun fiddler, singer, and actress from Covington, Louisiana. Shaw studied classical violin starting at age 4, but began playing and performing Cajun music at 8. She and her band, the Cute Guys, appear regularly throughout the New Orleans area, including annual shows at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

  3. Tuts Washington

    Isidore "Tuts" Washington (born January 24, 1907, New Orleans, Louisiana; died August 5, 1984, New Orleans) was an American pianist who exemplified the New Orleans rhythm and blues style, also made famous by musicians such as Professor Longhair. Washington taught himself piano at age 10, and studied with New Orleans jazz pianist Joseph Louis "Red" Cayou. In the 1920s and 1930s, he was a leading player for New Orleans dance and Dixieland bands.

    George Rodrigue, is a Cajun artist who grew up in New Iberia, Louisiana. Rodrigue began painting outdoor family gatherings framed by moss-clad oak trees in an area of French Louisiana known as Acadiana. He studied art formally at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (then named the University of Southwestern Louisiana) and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.

    Saxophone player Reggie Houston was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 2 1947, to Ralph Houston, a pianist and acoustic bassist, and Margarete Houston, who was both an educator and social activist. At the age of 10 Reggie began studying the saxophone. His first professional gig came at the age of 12 when he joined the Batiste family band, The Gladiators, widely considered to be one of the pioneering bands of funk.

  6. Amy Lee

    Amy Lee is one of the few female saxophonists to attain commercial success. Lee was born in North Adams, Massachusetts, and studied music at the University of Miami. She is best known for being a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band from 1991 through 2005. In 1999, Lee released her debut solo jazz CD, "Inside The Outside", on her independent label Publick Ptomaine Music. Her second CD, "Use Me", was released in 2004.
