- Michelle Kwan
Michelle Wing Kwan is an American figure skater and media celebrity who has won nine U.S. championships, five world championships, and two Olympic medals. She has remained competitive for over a decade and is the most decorated figure skater in U.S. history. Known for her consistency and expressive artistry on ice, she is widely considered to be one of the greatest figure skaters of all time despite having never won an Olympic gold medal.

Timothy Richard Goebel (born September 10, 1980 in Evanston, Illinois) is an American retired figure skater. Goebel was adopted through Catholic Charities by Ginny and Richard Goebel as an infant. He is best known for winning the Olympic bronze medal in men's figure skating at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and for being the first person to land a quadruple salchow in competition.
- Jeffrey Buttle
A student in U of T's Chemical Engineering program, Jeffrey Buttle is the 2008 World Champion in figure skating. He also holds the titles of 2005-2007 Canadian Men's Champion, 2005 World Silver Medalist, 2002 and 2004 Four Continents Champion, and 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalist. Admired in the skating world for his complex choreography, he excels at inventive spins and challenging footwork. Buttle is currently preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Born in the village of Chefe, Tirunesh Dibaba is the cousin of the two-time Olympic, and world champion 10,000 m runner Derartu Tulu. Tirunesh was the 4th of 6 children and was raised in the high-altitude Arsi Zone of the Oromia Region. She moved to the capital, Addis Ababa, in 2000 and at the age of 14 began her athletics career.

William Joseph Cheek (born June 22 1979 in Greensboro, North Carolina) is an American speed skater and former inline speed skater. He specializes in the short and middle distances. Cheek's breakthrough was in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. During that tournament he won the bronze medal in the 1,000 meters and he missed the podium in the 1,500 meters by 0.08 seconds.

Terry Brands (born April 9, 1968 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American Olympic wrestler who won a bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
