Shon played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men' singles, defeating Antti Viitikko of Finland and Richard Vaughan of Great Britain in the first two rounds. In the first round of elimination, she faced 63rd-ranked Bahnasawy Lamia of Egypt. Lee defeated Bahnasawy 164-127 in the 18-arrow match to advance to the round of 32. In that round, she faced 34th-ranked Greek archer Elpida Romantzi, defeating her 166-146.

Lee Dong-Gook is a South Korean football player also known as the Lion King among his fans. He has played for several clubs, including Pohang Steelers and Werder Bremen of Germany's Bundesliga. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, Im set a world record in the 72 arrow men's individual ranking round, with a score of 687. He then won his first three elimination matches, advancing to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Im faced Hiroshi Yamamoto of Japan, losing to the eventual silver medalist 111-110 in the 12-arrow match. Im placed 6th overall.

Hwang Young-Cho (born March 22, 1970) is a former South Korean athlete, winner of the marathon race at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Born in Samcheok, South Korea, Hwang Young-Cho was a promising track athlete in his junior years, but after his first marathon in 1991, which he won, decided to specialize to marathon. The Barcelona Olympic marathon was only fourth of his career. He had won two and placed second on his three previous marathon competitions.

Kim Hyung-chil (1 July 1959 - 7 December 2006 in Doha) was a South Korean horse rider. He was a silver medalist in the three day team event at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, and was the oldest member of South Korea's equestrian team. Kim participated in the Seoul 1988 and Athens 2004 Summer Olympics and also featured in the World Championships in equestrianism. He died on December 7, 2006 when he fell from his horse during the 2006 Asian Games Equestrian competition.

Kim Bong-Soo (born November 30, 1962 in Seoul) is a former tennis player from South Korea, who represented his native country as a lucky loser at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. There he was defeated in the third round by Argentina's Martin Jaite. The righthander reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on December 11, 1989, when he became the number 129 of the world.

Chun Lee-Kyung (born January 6, 1976) is a Korean short track speed skater, who dominated women's short track for much of 1990s. Chun took part in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, at the age of 15, but failed to win much attention. In 1994, however, Chun won two gold medals at the Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games. She won the women's 1000 m final with time of 1 minute 36.87 seconds, and was part of the team that won the 3000m relay in a world record time.
